The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Timber Control North, Chief Amb. Asegem Emmanuel, on Saturday hosted members of the Yala Local Government Area Legislature at his country home in Ijiraga Ward, South Ukelle, for a strategic engagement focused on grassroots mobilisation and support for the administration of Governor Bassey Otu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Chief Asegem urged the councillors to strengthen their presence across their respective wards and mobilise the people for the All Progressives Congress (APC), with a commitment to delivering a 5/5 victory for the party in Yala Local Government Area.

He called on the legislators to remain steadfast in their support for Governor Otu, pointing to the administration’s ongoing projects and interventions across Cross River State as evidence of its commitment to development.

Speaking on the impact of the Governor’s projects in the northern part of the state, Chief Asegem cited Ogoja, noting the remarkable transformation taking place in the town as a result of ongoing infrastructure projects.

He also referenced the Mfom–Okpoma–Okuku–Ogoja dual carriageway as one of the major projects with significant implications for Yala and the surrounding communities, particularly in improving connectivity and economic activities.

The Senior Special Assistant expressed confidence in the political strength of the APC in Yala and assured that the local government would deliver a 5/5 result for the party in the 2027 elections.
