Residents of Ekorinim and adjoining communities have received a major boost in electricity supply as the Cross River State Government, under the leadership of Governor Bassey Otu, delivered a new transformer to replace the faulty one at the AIG Substation in Ekorinim.
The transformer, which was officially delivered on Democracy Day, is expected to restore and improve power distribution in the area following the failure of the previous transformer that had left residents and businesses grappling with electricity challenges.
Delivering the transformer on behalf of the Governor, the Director General of the Cross River State Electrification Agency, Francis Ekpo, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to expanding access to reliable electricity across the state.
The intervention is part of Governor Otu’s ongoing efforts to strengthen critical infrastructure and improve the quality of life for Cross Riverians through sustainable power solutions.
Community members expressed appreciation to the Governor for the timely response, noting that the replacement of the failed transformer will bring relief to households, artisans, and businesses that depend on stable electricity for their daily activities.
